Problem : System login does not have administrator rights.

Soln. : Ask your System Administrator to provide administrative rights or Login to the Administrator login, import the certificate, perform the browser settings(point 1) and then access the site. The ActiveX control will get downloaded after which you can logoff and use your own login.

Problem : Signature Verification Failure message is coming. What should be done? Why is this happening?

Soln. : This might be due to the following:
1) The digital Certificate which you have selected during signing is different from the one which you have chosen during the login.
2) If you are uploading a file zero size file.
3) If you are using Windows Vista Operating System with Internet Explorer version 7, then there is an option Enable Protected Mode in
Tools-> Internet Options -> Security tab -> for Internet Zone.
Uncheck the option Enable Protected Mode.

Problem : What is a digital certificate? Why do I need it?

Soln. : A digital certificate is a secure electronic identity that certifies the identity of the holder. It is issued by a Certification Authority (CA) and typically contains users name, public key, and related information. A digital certificate is tamper-proof and cannot be forged, and is signed by the private key of the CA who issued it.

Problem : How can I check certificate expiry date?

Soln. : Open IE --->Tools---> Internet Options --->security
there you can check certificate details.
If certificate is expired contact SHCIL nearest branch.

Problem : What is PFX?

Soln. : PFX (Personal Information Exchange file) is a standard file format commonly used to store private keys with accompanying public key certificates, protected with a password-based symmetric key.

Problem : Why should I allow ActiveX controls to be downloaded by my browser?

Soln. : The site digitally signs the transactions carried out by the user, thereby enforcing non-repudiation feature. The digital signature process is carried out by a ActiveX program/executable named SignV2 class. To allow users carry out the action we require the ActiveX control to be installed in your browser .

Problem : When the Settings are changed it is displaying that ‘your security settings may put your computer into risk. Then Why should I change Security Settings that may affect my Computer?

Soln. : Microsoft provides an option to digitally sign the ActiveX control, thus providing an option for the service providers to assure their customers that they are safe from Trojan horses. By digitally signing the ActiveX controls the authenticity of the control can be assured by the service provider.
For IE6 it will ask for Security alert you have to say Yes for IE7 & IE8 you have to click option "Click here to continue Not recomended" to proceed further.

Problem : What is HTTPS?

Soln. : HTTPS is the secure version of HTTP protocol developed by Netscape to provide authentication and encrypted communication over the web. It encrypts and decrypts user page requests as well as the pages that are returned by the Web server.

Problem : Which of the browsers does this site support?

Soln. : Currently this site supports only Internet Explorer (IE) and we suggest that IE6 or above is used.

Problem : Certificate has been installed in the P.C.While login in to site certificate popup is coming but while signing Certificate not found in pop-up

Soln. : Pls check the Client Machine Date.If it is not proper then the certificate will not be present in certificate popup while uploading transactions.

Problem : Basic configuration settings have been done. But SignV2 class is not getting downloaded .

Soln. : Check the Configuration of your PC .Also since our Signv2 class is 32-bit the same cannot be downloaded in the 64-bit machine. Login in as a admin user and try.

Problem : File not Found alert comes while uploading a file and signing.

Soln. : Check if you are using Internet Explorer version 8. This problem can be resolved by doing the following setting.
Goto Tools -> Internet Options -> Security(Internet zone) -> Custom Level -> Include local directory path when uploading files
to a server click at enable

Problem : How I uninstall transnet application.

Soln. : For uninstalling the software, open Internet Explorer.
Go to->Internet Options->Content->press Certificate button-> select your certificate->press remove button. Then press Yes button
your certificate will get removed from your PC.
And inform nearest SHCIL branch with duly signed application.
